How Long is a Wedding Ceremony?

The Wedding Ceremony.

Couples want to know how long a wedding ceremony should last.  What should the wedding ceremony include?

The hour-long wedding ceremony is long gone.

Most wedding ceremonies are a tight 20 minutes.

Rarely are there soloists.

Rarely are there scripture readers.

Rarely are there extras that add up to additional time.

In 2015, the wedding ceremony is focused on the couple, exchanging vows and rings, and introducing the couple for the first time.

I like to personalize the entire experience getting to know my couples.  Otherwise, they could have gone to the courthouse for a one minute wedding ceremony.  I attended one of those.  It was still fun because the judge did an impression of Donald Duck (you can't make this up) but the entire ceremony was quick.

There are a bunch of short ceremonies on YouTube.  This one is 1 minute and 52 seconds... wow, that is one quick officiant.  Still, it's a lovely ceremony.
